Ingredients:
cup beaten egg whites; cup superfine sugar, 2 cups edible flowers of your own choice.
Making Candied Flowers:
Clean the flowers and use a paper towel to dry them. Apply a thin layer of egg white with a paint brush on each side of the flower petals. Then place the flowers in a shallow bowl of superfine sugar and sprinkle more sugar over the flowers to create a coating. Ensure that the whole flower composition has been sprinkled with sugar. Remove the flowers and place them on a sheet of waxed paper. You need to ensure that the entire flower is covered with sugar by sprinkling another layer of sugar until this is achieved.
Allow the flowers to dry on waxed paper for 8 hours. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature until the composition is needed later. Flowers are a wonderful gift of nature.
